Yes, And… Elevate Your Energy and Decisions

November 21, 2024

YES…

A powerful and often overlooked factor influencing decision-making is the energy within our own bodies. By understanding and intentionally changing our body’s energy and decisions, we can unlock many benefits that positively impact our decision-making process.

AND…

When our energy is stagnant or imbalanced, it can manifest as stress, anxiety, and even clouded judgment. Engaging in activities that bring joy and fulfillment contributes to a more positive energy state. Positive energy can be harnessed through techniques such as exercise, meditation, deep-breathing, and improv challenges (of course!)

25 FOR 25: #7

By consciously changing the body’s energy through positive practices, we empower ourselves to make decisions that align with our values, aspirations, and well-being. Three ways to change your body’s energy for the better:

  1. Start with Happiness – Whether is it taking a few still moments to enjoy someone with you, your coffee, or some music that makes you smile, block out a small bit of time each morning for something that makes you happy.
  2. Warmup – Improvisers warm up before shows to pump oxygen to the brains and put them in the right headspace. Before important engagements – meetings, conversations, virtual collaborations – treat yourself like an improviser and warm up. (Simple Warm Up: Hit the music and commit to a 60 second dance party!)
  3. You’ve Got to Move It, Move It! – Get up and move around every 60-90 minutes. Try to give yourself a 5-minute mental break from both work and technology, to renew and reset for the next block of work you have in front of you. (Hey DJ, bring that music back!)
